First goal: in main garden, clearing one of the paths which had become utterly overgrown due, Elisha said, mostly to squash plants of various kinds going crazy.

When I went out, about 9:30, there were Elisha and Mere, thoroughly enjoying some wild story Mere was telling, and in the background, between them, a new person, Eli! Eli is a new student at IU, and on the eastern edge of campus, about a mile from here. I forgot ask how he found out about the garden. Hopefully he will come to our next Community Dinner, this week, 7 pm, August 27, and I can ask him then. Told him to please bring his friends, too!

 

Here’s Ben Hur, stopping with a full wheelbarrow to speak with Carissa, who was (finally) seeding her saved radishe seeds into the designated bed.

Ben was hauling the debris from tree branch cutting Dave had done awhile ago — to let more light onto one of the beds.

I followed him around to where he was taking one of his full loads. To the two people, who Elisha says, thank goodness, both like to work with the wood chipper!

Yes. Both Addy and Dave were there, in the chicken yard,, hard at this very noisy task. Glad to see Addy’s ears are covered. Hope Dave’s are too!

On my way back inside, wow, there’s Mere again, in the back yard next to the patio, instructing Eli on how to weed around the berry bushes.
