Elisha was busy on retreat with the Bloomington Community Orchard this morning, so her partner Dave took over to head up the work party.

Walking out there, I followed the laughter: Mere’s . . .

She and Dave were pulling tomato plants for Addy to haul away in a wheelbarrow.

I asked, “How many pounds of tomatoes did we harvest this year? At one point, Elisha said 250 pounds.”

“Dave: That was in the beginning. Probably a half ton all together!”

Wow!

Here’s Joseph, walking, to check out my roof at my request. Not sure what he was doing. Likely weeding in the forest garden he created a few years ago.

The tomatoes gone, Mere and Dave then seeded the bed with a cover crop.

Then the two of them moved over to a bed from which we had harvested beans. Took out those plants, and again, seeded with a cover crop.

See that arugula crop in front? Mere and I both remarked on how just looking at arugula makes our mouths water. . .
