Garlic Harvest Work Party

Three people, hard at work at 9 AM on the Day after the 4th of July.. Dave, Elisha, Mere.

Okay. First GARLIC:

It began with Dave putting hooks into the ceiling of the drying/storage room.

Then he and Mere started to hang them,.

I did get one photo of Mere, walking into the greenhouse behind Elisha, with the rest of the garlic.

Then, ONIONS.

Meanwhile, the second batch of onions have been curing in the greenhouse itself, with air blowing on them.

Mere and Elisha cut the tails off this batch.

So now, they’re ready to go in the drying/storage room with the rest of the onions and as of today, the garlic.

All that, plus the actual harvesting of garlic from the ground, took a total of two hours. Three people, two hours!

Can you imagine the odor that accosted my nostrils in the greenhouse drying/storage room at the end, when I came back to open the door and take a photo of the completed garlic job?
