Ever since the yurt moved across the street from the platform out back, we’ve been “circling up” there prior to our twice monthly Thursday meals. Over the summer, Elisha has started a new ritual while we are still standing there holding hands. This is to Ask a Question. This past Thursday she asked: “What is right with the world?” And for each one to begin with our name and a bit about ourselves, since, as usual, not everyone knew each other. As I recall, everybody except me focused on “community,” saying that these and other informal gatherings, in this strange time, fill them with hope for the future.
I spoke of my struggle to let go of projection, judgment, control, in relation to others. Lifelong. With hints lately, that I am beginning to succeed. So that’s definitely, “what’s right” in MY world.

I have wanted to get a portrait of Wanda and Sophia, otherwise known as “The Aunties.” So here it is. Sophia (who visits her sister from Canada for 13 weeks twice a year) is here for another two weeks, but unfortunately leaves on the very day of our next Dinner.

I took that photo prior to circling up. Everybody that was coming had arrived, and were deeply engaged. In fact, had to tear them away so that we could “circle up” — and then EAT!

As usual, Julie brought an outstanding dessert . . .
