SUNDAY WORK PARTY, NOV 1: Out Front, Out Back; Weeding, Mulching
Ann Kreilkamp

Here’s the whole group (Elisha, Addy, Mere, Dave) that gathered out front (i.e., in main garden), to, first of all, prepare an extension of a bed.  (Elisha is creating and enlarging beds anywhere she can!) I.e., dig up weeds, etc. and mulch for the winter.

Oops! Except for John. Here’s John, getting more mulch. (I told him to pose for me.)

Finished extension of bed.

OUT FRONT

Next, the group split, with Mere and Addy (hard to see, but Addy’s about to come through the gate) weeding and mulching what was, and will be again, a narrow bed next to the fence.

OUT BACK

I had asked Elisha if it was okay for Marita and I to piles leaves from that yard into the berry patch/strawberry beds, or did she want to mulch first. Her response: “It’ll be okay by this evening”. . .

Berry patches cleanup begins, with Elisha, Dave (hard to see), John.

Finished beds, this morning, with falling leaves already beginning to cover.

Leaves leaves leaves. Am I correct in saying that there are more leaves than usual this year. I noticed leaf production in the spring, and felt it was heavier; and now, in the fall, I really do think it was!

Time to take down the lights, as well as store the extra tables. No more bi-monthly Community Dinners out here ’til spring.
