Sunday Work Party 8:00 AM, Elisha and mere were weeding on the corner of DeKist and Overhill . . .

. . . where we’ve planted peppers. Quite a few peppers.

I asked Elisha for the run-down. Here they are, described in her own words.

 

CARMEN (large sweet pepper, usually grows to around 6”, can be eaten green or wait till it’s red- it gets sweeter)

 

 

SHISHITO (smaller pepper usually around 2-3”, sometimes spicy, sometimes sweet – I call it the Russian roulette pepper)

 

HABENERO (very spicy, small around 2”, turns orange when ripe)

And in pots . . . Mostly more habenero.

 

Looking up to garden fence while  on corner: one winter squash. Plus gladiolas!

Earlier, the two of them had stored the rest of the onions in the extremely odiferous dark room . . . now holding ALL the onions and garlic.

And wow, look at the difference between these two squash plants: one that starts on the left is climbing like crazy, the one started on the right wilting on the vine. Elisha told me that you never know with climbing squash plants: some make it, some don’t.
