March 1, PLANTING DAY! Plus. . .Part 1
Ann Kreilkamp

Last post was exactly one month ago, February 1.

Since then, like many places, following spring-like weather, we once woke up to this! Totally unexpected.

Lots to catch up on. Community Dinners, Gardening, Outside Projects.

COMMUNITY DINNERS:

We hold community dinners on two Thursdays each month): February 12 and 26.

Both were what I’d call “mostly family” gatherings, attracting those who live in these three homes, plus a neighbor or two and relatives.

February 12

At my house (Overhill Dr.) Julie (to the left of the fireplace) brought Valentine’s Day cupcakes. And they were REALLY good.

February 26

At Elisha’s and Dave’s house (DeKist St.), where their dining room table is to die for.

My plate was way too full . . .

GARDENING:

Garden Manager Elisha is eager to plant. And that’s putting it mildly. In fact, today, March 1, she had planned to officially begin planting the seeds she has been sprouting in the green house, plus potatoes and other early spring veggies. Here’s two pics of the crew, which kept increasing as the afternoon wore on.

BTW: for some reason, I couldn’t get the wordpress to continue with this post. So I did a part 2, and it includes Special Projects.

Joseph and Addy, potatoes
Marita, cabbages
