We met to work early on three Sunday mornings in August (the fourth featured rain). Lots can get done when lots of folks are doing it! Not just those who live here, but neighbors near and far. Potatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, tomatoes, chard, arugula, and more, all for the taking!
August 3. Notice the newly seeded beds. Fall planting underway.

August 10th. Neighbor Marcella with resident Joseph, who lives here. More planting!

August 24th. Notice the beautiful brassicas! Because only one week later they won’t look so beautiful . . .

Starting to put part of the garden to bed . . . Elisha, our fearless leader, to the left, with Marita, who lives here, and neighbors Wendy and Marcella.

August 30: Yep! Harlequin beetles are trying to take over the brassicas. And here’s what they’re capable of . . .

Marita was on it. Has been on her knees daily ever since.

Oh well, just keep going!

And meanwhile, arugula. YUM!
