Green Acres Permaculture Village

Growing community from the ground up.

July 4th Weekend: Community Dinner, Work Party with Worm . . .

Community Dinner on July 3 included a dozen people, featuring a small,  intense group energy. (Many neighbors were out of town.)

We even got sparklers and waved them around on our new stage. (Sorry, n0 pics.)

Work Party this morning, lots got done!

Garlic hung up to dry in shed.

Several folks worked outside the fence to tame the wild a bit.

Meanwhile, Elisha pointed out that we now have celery, thanks to Emerson, who planted it.

She also points here to the tipi, constructed above new garlic, freshly planted underneath.

Teensy seedlings came out of greenhouse today, to bask in the garden sun until August, when they will be put into the ground.

Meanwhile, the high drama of the morning came when Marita, about to shovel compost for a new bed,

came upon a worm. Good worm or bad worm? A consultation ensued.

Marita, Mere and Elisha all agreed. GOOD WORM!

More worm talk. This time with Wendy also. who had just arrived.

Another consultation post-worm. What’s next? Elisha leads the band. Marita brings in compost.

Okay. Final photo. Of the lemon lime trees busy growing in the green house.

Hmmm . . . I wonder where Elisha wants to plant them . . .
